Adobe Firefly: Revolutionizing AI Image Generation
Fine Tune Your AI Image Generation with Adobe Firefly’s New Structure Reference
Adobe has introduced a groundbreaking feature to Adobe Firefly called "Structure Reference," and I couldn't resist diving in to explore its potential.
Adobe Firefly, a leading AI image generation tool, now includes the innovative Structure Reference feature. This advanced Artificial Intelligence functionality enables users to use an uploaded image as a blueprint for the structure of the new creations, maintaining the original's structure and content integrity. By guiding the AI's composition and structure, the Structure Reference image significantly enhances control and predictability in generating art or photos. This addition marks a pivotal advancement in AI image generation, mitigating the unpredictability commonly associated with such technology.
Structure Reference is similar to the Style Reference tools found in Firefly as well as the character reference feature in Midjourney. It enables users to instruct the AI to apply the structure of an existing image to new generations, ensuring that the resulting images maintain the desired layout.
Understanding Adobe Firefly Generative AI
The Structure Reference feature in Adobe Firefly enhances the AI image generation by allowing you to fine-tune the image generated. First, input an image that will serve as the Structure Reference. Firefly now knows that it should generate an image with the same structure. You can also input a Style Reference image to influence the feel or style of the new image.
Next, request Firefly to generate the final image. Structure Reference works by analyzing the reference image and creating a structural blueprint for the AI to follow while generating image variations with the same underlying composition.
In my example, I uploaded a simple doodle portrait of a woman and added different style prompts for each image generation. The doodle served as a guide for the structure of the AI-generated images, transforming the simple sketch into striking photos and various art styles. With Structure Reference, any type of image, from doodles to complex compositions, can be turned into photorealistic works of art, and vice versa. One of the key benefits of this feature is the ability to create a completely new subject while preserving the general compositional structure of the reference image.
